Fr. Marty Marren
Fr. Marty Marren is the oldest of 10 children, son of the late Luke and Eileen Marren. He attended St. Christopher Church and School in Midlothian. He graduated from Quigley South in 1976 and from Niles College of Loyola in 1980, majoring in Fine Art and English Literature, then studied theology at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein. He was ordained by Cardinal Joseph Bernardin in 1984 (the last class ordained at St. Mary of the Lake). His first assignment was at St. Germaine Parish in Oak Lawn, served at St. Barnabas in Beverly as an associate pastor 1991–1997, and at St. Gerald Parish in Oak Lawn 1997–2004. He pastored St. Emeric Parish in Country Club Hills 2004–2018. He represents our deanery on the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council with Fr. Ken.
