Homework Tests & Quizzes

Please take a look at our 4th Grade "Homework Document" for information on daily homework assignments! This document will be used for both 4th Grade classrooms. Homework Document
Assignment Expectations
Homework Passes
Students are not able to use homework passes on projects, take home assessments, or guided reading!
Absences
If a student is absent they will receive their missed assignments when they return to school. Teachers will not prepare assignments ahead of time for planned absences. If a student misses work while they are absent they have the same number of days “out” to turn in their assignments. For example, if a student misses two days of school they have two extra days to turn in an assignment they missed. Assignments turned in after this date will be marked as “missing” and the late policy will be applied.
If a student misses a quiz or test while they are absent they will make it up after school. Make up assessments are scheduled for the following Friday from 2:30 - 3:15.
Missing & Late Homework
If students do not turn their homework in by the assigned due date, they will lose a Dojo point. Assignment details will be recorded on Dojo (i.e. Math HW pg. 75). Missing homework will also be recorded on PowerSchool as a zero and marked as "missing" until it is turned in.
Late work is accepted. All late work must be submitted by the following Monday of the due date. Students will receive a daily “Missing” stamp in their assignment notebook if they have any missing assignments. On Friday students will bring home a “Homework Slip” that reminds them of the assignments that need to be turned in on Monday. If an assignment is not turned in by the following Monday the student will receive a zero.
Students will lose 10% of the final assignment grade each day it is late until it is turned in. If an assignment is turned in late, the lowest grade that can be earned is a 50%. PowerSchool will be updated after the assignment is turned in and marked as “late.”
Please see the behavior policy for details!
Corrections
Students are able to complete corrections on Math assignments & chapter assessments in an effort to receive a higher grade! Students may NOT complete corrections on cumulative exams. Students who submit correct corrections will receive 0.5 points back for every 1 point lost. For example, if a student incorrectly answers a 1 point question and submits corrections, they are able to receive +0.5 points back. If they incorrectly answer a 2 point question and submit corrections, they are able to receive +1 point, and so on.
Corrections are not mandatory unless otherwise stated by the teacher. When completing corrections, the original assignment should not be modified! All corrections should be completed on a separate sheet of paper and stapled to the back of the original assignment. Only incorrect answers need to be corrected! With the corrections, students should include a short written response about how they fixed their mistake. Both the original assignment and the corrections should be turned in together! Students MUST complete corrections on Friday after school from 2:30-3:15 with their homeroom teacher.
